Introducing: Slice O' Life Lit Mag
A loosely literary magazine sharing moments of everyday life.
Dear NPR Fangirl Readers,
It’s been about five months since I first launched NPR Fangirl. My goal was to share my love of NPR and journalism more broadly and to raise funds for local and nonprofit news outlets and other organizations in the field through paid monthly subscriptions. I’m grateful for the small but engaged readership that I’ve accumulated in that short time, and for the donations we were able to make in part to paid monthly subscriptions from a handful of readers.
For the time being, I’m going to step away from this publication, as I feel it’s not the right time for me to be working on this project. I’ve turned off paid subscriptions, so those of you who were donating will not be charged monthly for the foreseeable future. Should I decide to reintroduce a paid component to NPR Fangirl in the future, I will update you all accordingly.
For those of you who know me personally, you know that I typically don’t end a project without having another one lined up. In staying true to form, I have just launched a new publication on Substack called Slice O’ Life Lit Mag. Rather than making this a lengthy post, I hope you’ll visit the Slice O’ Life about page and consider subscribing and sharing a story with the publication. You can also follow Slice O’ Life on Instagram @sliceolifelitmag and eventually on Twitter, too. The publication is absolutely free and I have no plans on introducing a paid component to it. If you have any questions about Slice O’ Life, feel free to leave a comment on this post and I will answer.
Thank you all for supporting NPR Fangirl. There could be more to come in the future, but for now sink your teeth into a Slice O’ Life if you’re so inclined.
Bummed to see NPR Fangirl going on sabbatical, but I’m excited to see where this next pivot takes you (and us)!
